Ular Bandotan Tanah ditemukan di Nepal, Thailand, Kamboja, Laos, Vietnam, Malaysia bagian utara dan di pulau Jawa di Indonesia. Ada juga laporan yang belum dikonfirmasi namun dapat dipercaya dari Myanmar bagian selatan, Sumatra bagian utara dan Borneo bagian utara. Ular ini lebih suka tinggal di hutan pesisir, semak bambu, lahan pertanian yang tidak digunakan dan ditumbuhi semak-semak, kebun, perkebunan serta hutan di sekitar perkebunan.
Malayan Pit Viper, also known as Calloselasma Rhodostoma mostly found in Nepal, Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam, Northern West Malaysia, and on the Indonesian island of Java. There are unconfirmed, but credible reports from southern Myanmar (Burma), northern Sumatra and northern Borneo. Ular ini memiliki reputasi sebagai ular yang berbisa dan sangat agresif. Mereka cenderung diam di tempat yang sama selama beberapa jam setelah insiden yang melibatkan manusia. This species has a reputation for being bad-tempered and quick to strike. Remarkably sedentary, it has often been found in the same spot several hours after an incident involving humans. Its venom causes severe pain and local swelling and sometimes tissue necrosis, but deaths are not common. Many victims are left with dysfunctional or amputated limbs due to the lack of antivenom and early treatment.
