IKAN “PERMEN” DI AIR TAWAR
Parosphromenus phoenicurus, atau yang dikenal juga sebagai Ikan Sepat Api Ekor Merah atau “Licorice Gourami,” adalah salah satu spesies ikan hias yang memikat dengan keindahan warna dan keunikan perilakunya. Nama “phoenicurus” merujuk pada sirip ekor mereka yang berwarna merah cerah, yang menjadi ciri khas spesies ini. Tubuhnya berwarna gelap dengan pola garis-garis atau bintik yang memberikan kesan seperti permen licorice. Mereka hidup di habitat yang sangat spesifik, menjadikannya simbol dari keanekaragaman hayati di ekosistem rawa gambut Sumatera.
FRESHWATER “CANDY” FISH
Parosphromenus phoenicurus, also known as the Red-tailed Fire Gourami or “Licorice Gourami,” is one of the ornamental fish species that captivates with its beautiful colors and unique behavior. The name “phoenicurus” refers to their bright red tail fins, which are the hallmark of this species. Their bodies are dark in color with stripes or spots that give the impression of licorice candy. They live in a very specific habitat, making them a symbol of the biodiversity of the Sumatran peat swamp ecosystem.
