Palmas delhezi is a nocturnal fish. They hunt at night, and during the day they will hide and rest behind plant roots. This fish was named Delhezi in honor of the Belgian artist and naturalist Henri Paul Delhez (1870-1900), who collected the species and provided a life history account of this species based on interviews with local residents.
