AROMA KAPUR BARUS, PELINDUNG DIRI DARI PREDATOR
A small marsupial endemic to the rainforests of New Guinea and northern Australia. This animal has a striking body pattern with black fur and bold white stripes on its back, making it easy to recognize. Kempelon Ladi is renowned for its long, flexible fourth toe, used to search for insects in the bark—similar to the technique of the aye-aye of Madagascar. Interesting fact, this nocturnal animal has a distinctive smell like camphor which helps protect it from predators.
THE AROMA OF NEW LIMEST, PROTECTING FROM PREDATORS
A unique species of small kangaroo found only in Papua and the Aru Islands, Indonesia. This marsupial has a reddish brown body with strong hind legs for jumping, and a long tail that helps maintain balance. Aru wallabies live in tropical forests and mangrove forests, eating leaves, fruit and grass. An interesting fact, this wallaby is the only genus Thylogale that is endemic to Indonesia, making it an important symbol of local biodiversity. However, the population is threatened by hunting and habitat loss.
